This morning you learned how to publish. What are the steps to publishing?

TTW state the objectives.

This period we are going to define and interpret the different types of author’s purpose.

TTW relate the lesson to the student’s lives by involving the students.

Imagine your birthday is coming up and you decide that you want a bike from your parents. Your parents tell you that they aren’t getting you a bike, but they haven’t decided what they are getting for you. What would be some of the things that you might say to your parents to convince them to get that bike for you? (Write persuade by P)

Your parents tell you they aren’t sure, so you want to tell them some facts about the bike. You have looked at the prices of the bikes and know exactly where the cheapest one is located. Are there any other things you might tell your parents about the bike? (Write Inform by I)

Your parents decide that you gave a convincing argument and they will buy the bike for your birthday. You are proud of this accomplishment and your persuasive skills. You want to tell your friends about your new bike, but you also want to make this story fun and maybe even humorous. What are some things you might say to your friends? (Write entertain by E)
